Why you should never ignore the alt attribute

The alt attribute was first introduced in HTML 2 (1995), so it’s been with us for an awfully long time. This little three-letter attribute is so important; not only does it help with Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), but it also improves the accessibility of your site. Alt attributes and accessibility Accessibility on any site is vital, and alt attributes help by offering a readable text version of an image. If a user has to use a screen reader (for example, due to visual impairment) then they will have the alt text read to them. This means that the text you put into your alt attribute needs to make sense. Click the button below to s

Advanced Surgery Step-By-Step Pokemon Clay Figures

What I love about being creative is that even when you think you've made an absolute mess of a piece you can always try to remedy it and adapt your work without having to scrap the whole thing. I've recently begun sculpting using polymer clay. Not being familiar with this medium I've had to learn a lot through trial and error. This journal is about challenges I faced while making two tiny clay figurines and how I tried to fix the issues. This is about the Pikachu  & Snorlax figurines I made; I encountered problems pre-baking and post-baking which I needed to remedy. Pikachu presented not looking quite like himself at all  and needed a f

Tutorials and techniques 2

It's time to refresh the tutorial journal! Added some new ones and removed those which, after some time, I found a bit misleading. Below you'll find a list of tutorials I personally think of as the best on dA. If I have any problems with painting something I usually take a look at one of those.     Is there anything you're having troubles with? Need help looking for a good tutorial? Or maybe you'd like to see a video walk-through of me painting something? I'm open for suggestions for what kind of tutorial/walk-through you'd like to see from me. If you're interested in anything, post your suggestions in the comments! Poses, composition and

.:How To Make A Comic:.

• COMICS: Comics are basically short stories told in a more visual way. Even a graphic novel wouldn’t exactly be considered a “novel” because novel is defined by a set word count minimum. If you really have a story you want to write out but can't seem to make it detailed or long enough to be a book, you may want to consider a comic especially if your passion is for drawing and visual things. Making a comic, as I've personally learned, isn’t something you can just go in head first without some kind of plan. I’m not at all a planner so making a comic I could finish beyond one or two pages was definitely a str
